Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela Attends the IFSO Conference in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Dr. Louisiana Valenzuela, a weight loss surgeon with Mexico Bariatric Center, attends the IFSO in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The IFSO, the International Federation Surgery for Obesity, conference allowed Dr. Valenzuela to expand her knowledge and keep abreast of the latest information on bariatrics and obesity.

Ron Elli, Ph.D., (seen right) the founder of Mexico Bariatric Center accompanied the trip to help promote the informational seminar MBC had in Montreal, Quebec.

Dr. Valenzuela listened to various conferences on these topics: duodenal switch, gastric plication, allied health, robotic bariatric surgery, the 5th International Conference on Sleeve Gastrectomy, and others. Dr. Valenzuela also heard the keynote lectures:

The 19th World Congress of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) was held in Montreal, QC, Canada on August 26th – 30th, 2014. The congress was the first time held in Canada with the total of 51 sessions, 33 CME credits, and 48 live procedures. IFSO was a collaboration of ASMBS (American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery), CABPS (Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons), CON (Canadian Obesity Network), IBC (International Bariatric Club) and WOF (World Obesity Federation).
